Systems Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide support for users to operate computer hardware and software systems. The Technician has a responsibility to provide “Outstanding Customer Service”, responds in a timely manner to clients, and apply fixes to issues clients may have. Technicians will have knowledge of Intel based system units with particular emphasis on Windows Operating Systems, peripherals (printers) and installation of software applications.

TASKS:

• Handle complex and/or demanding tasks the best that they can, knowing proper escalation procedures
• Communicates with customers on ticket status and appropriate maintenance. Proactively follows up on customer service issues or requests as needed to ensure that service level expectations are met.
• Installs, maintains, and supports network infrastructure components including, but not limited to: network hubs, switches, routers, and various modem devices under direct supervision of the Project Lead.
• Adds, modifies, and deletes network and E-mail user accounts, including creation, modification to file rights and accessibility, and deleting unused accounts. Configuration includes both the hardware and software components of these devices.
• Installs, repairs, and provides assistance with computer systems by replacing network devices and computer components, diagnosing hardware and software problems, installing and upgrading hardware and software, and providing support and training to end users.
• Provide remote technical support via phone/ remote app/ email and other means of communication.
• Possible on call duties to support 24 hour operations.

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with staff, clients, and vendors

Ability to work as a team member in a collaborative working environment

Ability to logically problem solve and do basic problem analysis

Able to multitask in a fast paced environment

Working experience in computer hardware, software, and applications

Working experience in basic networking and telecommunications technology

Comfortable in working within enterprise networks running on Windows Active Directory

REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs

Associates degree or 1 years in the field experience

Valid driver’s license with clean abstract

At least one technical certification from an approved list of vendors including CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, and VMware (or equivalent in training/education level)
